Motivation and Goals
|
|
The neural
network society is more and more interested to find new ideas/models by looking
to brain circuitry and dynamics. Accordingly, each year, an increasing number
of papers dealing with computational models -part of them being related to the
hippocampus- are presented at IJCNN.
The
main goal of this special session is to regroup in a common session all papers
related to the Hippocampus. Accordingly, we strongly encourage all persons
submitting a paper related to the hippocampus to submit it to this special
session.
Models
can include just part of the hippocampus, or include other brain areas (as the
prefrontal cortex or the entorhinal cortex). These models can go from path
integration models to memory models, including models focusing on the different
hippocampal dynamics.
The
underlying goal of this session is to face together different complementary
and/or competitive computational models which include the hippocampus in order
to get a integrative view and hopefully to help us in further development.
